Compare the Subaru Ascent Against Competitors

The All-New Subaru Ascent VS The Competition

Shreveport drivers have an overwhelming amount of 3-row SUVs to choose from as their next family vehicle. The Subaru Ascent is leaving the competition behind in the dust with more standard safety features, more capable, spirited, and efficient performance, and more spacious seating and cargo space for all of life's big adventures. Read below to see how the Ascent stacks up against similar SUVs from other manufacturers.

Subaru Ascent VS The Honda Pilot

  • Powertrain: Like many Monroe, LA drivers, you are looking for the perfect blend of thrilling performance and excellent fuel economy. The Honda Pilot does offer slightly more horsepower than the Ascent with its 3.5L V6 engine, but it is not as efficient with 18 city and 26 highway mpg. All-wheel-drive is also an additional cost. The Ascent, however, gets 21 city and 27 highway with standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, can tow up to 5,000 lbs. and generates 260 horsepower.
  • Safety: When it comes to advanced safety both the Pilot and Ascent have a number of standard features. The Ascent happens to have more standard and available safety features. EyeSight Driver Assist Technology is standard on every model and LED Steering Responsive Headlight, Automatic Collision Notification, and Stolen Vehicle Recovery. All of which are features the Honda Pilot doesn't offer.
  • Price: It is safe to say that Bossier City drivers don't want to spend more for less. Which is exactly what the Honda Pilot has to offer. The Subaru Ascent costs roughly $2,000 less and is better equipped for everything life has to offer. To get all of the same standard features as the base Ascent you will have to add another $4,000 to the price tag.

Subaru Ascent VS The Toyota Highlander

  • Powertrain: Subaru is well known for their spirited and long lasting performance and the Subaru Ascent is no exception with a 260 horsepower, 2.4L turbocharged BOXER engine. And of course the Subaru Ascent comes standard with Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive for unmatched traction and control no matter where the road may go. The Highlander is only available with a less capable all-wheel-drive system for an additional cost. The Highlander also doesn't have other performance features like X-Mode with Hill Descent Control for enhanced off-road performance.
  • Safety: For years the Toyota Highlander has been the family SUV for Longview, TX with Toyota Safety Sense standard to keep everyone safe but that is no longer the case. The Subaru Ascent comes standard with EyeSight Driver Assist Technology that includes features that the Highlander doesn't offer. The Highlander also doesn't offer a number of other safety features that the Subaru Ascent has. LED Steering Responsive Headlights, Automatic Collision Notification, and Stolen Vehicle Recovery are just a few.
  • Interior Space: Many Alexandria drivers who are in the market for a 3-row SUV are in need of extra seats and extra space. Both of which the Subaru Ascent has more to offer. The Highlander only offers 142.2 cubic feet of seating for up to 8 with 13.8 cubic feet behind the 3rd row. The Ascent has an impressive 153.5 cubic feet of seating for 8 and 17.8 cubic feet of trunk space behind the 3-row. The Ascent also has more maximum cargo space, headroom, and legroom.
